Following Jey’s win, Rikishi took to Instagram and reposted a video of Rhea Ripley, in which she can be seen doing Uso’s signature Yeet dance move. For the longest time, Rikishi has been critical of the way his sons Jey and Jimmy Uso have been booked in WWE. Now, he finally has reason to celebrate, as Jey has captured what will surely be the first of many singles titles. Let’s take a look at what lies ahead for Jey Uso.

What’s next for WWE’s Intercontinental Champion, Jey Uso?

Now that Uso has finally established himself as a singles star, where does his story go from here? Well now that he’s the champ next up on the priority list will be title defenses so we’ll probably get to see Uso get into a feud with another star who wishes to capture his title. Chances are that this will be none other than Bron Breakker.
On the other hand, many believe that Jey will reunite Roman Reigns once his brother Jimmy Uso marks his return to the WWE. However, now that Jey is a champion himself, it doesn’t make sense for him to be in Roman’s shadow. But who knows, now that Jey is a champion, maybe it means that he won’t have to be in anyone’s shadow.

Instead, if a new Bloodline arises, Jey’s status as a champ will help balance things out, so it looks more like a family instead of a dictatorship. Regardless of what happens next, Jey Uso is now the Intercontinental Champion. A victory that has been a long time coming and one that he thoroughly deserves. Hopefully, he’ll get enough time with the belt to properly revel in the joys of being the champ. Even if Jey doesn’t from the looks of it, his father Rikishi surely will.
