After meeting with
Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said on Sunday (local time) that this is the moment for India to seize the opportunity presented by artificial intelligence and added that he is looking forward to partnering with New Delhi to make that possible.
Huang participated in a roundtable conference in New York hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in the United States for a 3-day visit.
After meeting
PM Modi, the CEO of a US-based technology company said, "This is India's moment. You have to seize the opportunity."
Huang was one of the 15 technology industry leaders in attendance. He highlighted that India is home to some of the world's most brilliant computer scientists and expressed Nvidia's eagerness to collaborate with India on the emerging field of artificial intelligence, ANI news agency reported.
"India, as you know, is also home to some of the world's greatest computer scientists. So this is a great opportunity. Artificial intelligence is also a new industry, a new manufacturing industry that's very important and so I'm looking forward to partner with India in a very deep way to make that possible" said Huang.
Reflecting on his interactions with PM Modi, Huang described him as "an incredible student" who is keen on learning about technology and AI to explore the potential opportunities for India. He expressed his delight in discussing these topics with the Prime Minister.
Huang also pointed out that India ranks as the third-largest country in terms of startups, and to support this thriving ecosystem, AI infrastructure is essential. He mentioned that Nvidia has partnerships throughout India, including AI Centres of Excellence at every Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), where teaching professionals train students to upskill in the new world of AI. Huang emphasized that AI has democratized computing.
