Pune: After the secretariat in Parliament allotted the NCP's office to
Sharad Pawar's faction registered as
NCP (SCP), its working president
Supriya Sule on Thursday said that truth about the real NCP has finally prevailed.
Her party has eight Lok Sabha MPs and the secretariat has mentioned 'NCP' as the party's name. No office was allotted to Ajit Pawar's party which has just one Lok Sabha member.
It also called chief minister Eknath Shinde-led
Shiv Sena as 'Shiv Sena Shinde' party.
Interacting with mediapersons in Baramati, Supriya said, "Satyamev Jayate. No matter how hard the path is, truth ultimately prevails. The central govt used all its agencies against ours and Uddhav Thackeray's party, but the people of Maharashtra gave a fitting reply in the Lok Sabha poll to show which is the real NCP and Shiv Sena."
Following the split in Shiv Sena and NCP, the Election Commission of India termed
Eknath Shinde's party as the real Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's party as the real NCP. Both Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar's parties have challenged the order in Supreme Court.
Supriya said, "Though some MLAs left, the organisation is still with Sharad Pawar and according to the party's constitution, ours is the real NCP. Similarly, Balasaheb Thackeray handed over Shiv Sena to Uddhav Thackeray. We will continue to fight the case in Supreme Court to ensure that others do not face similar injustice."
The working president of NCP also referred to recent speeches by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and said he seems to be toeing MVA's progressive line. She said, "In the last 15 days, his speeches are centered around progressive Maharashtra. He is following us. He said one must not get involved in who eats what and follows which rituals. This is progressive thinking."
She added that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and reformists like Shahu, Phule and Ambedkar have taught Maharashtra about progressive thinking. "Now, it appears that even RSS feels such thoughts are better for society," the MP said.
