Ranchi/Daltonganj: The political heat in Jharkhand is escalating with every passing day as both
BJP and JMM have spruced up their pace of campaigning from battle grounds to social media. For every statement made by BJP leaders, JMM is ready with rebuttal and challenging each other immediately.
On Monday when nearly half-a-dozen BJP’s national leaders participated in Parivartan Yatra across the state, JMM handed over the cudgels to its Gandey MLA Kalpana Murmu Soren to launch the party’s Maiyaa Samman Yatra from Banshidhar Nagar in Garhwa.
It was the same place from where Union defence minister Rajnath Singh had addressed Parivartan Yatra a couple of days ago.
BJP’s national president JP Nadda visited Khunti, the birth place of Birsa Munda to strike a chord with the tribal sentiment while chief minister (CM)
Hemant Soren addressed the gathering of the “Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ programmme, a flagship event of the mahagathbandhan govt in the state, where entire administrative machinery is broguth at one place to cater to public grievances.
Having distributed assets and schemes worth Rs 734 crore for Khunti and Simdega districts, the CM blamed the Union govt for Jharkhand’s limited resources.
“The Centre should immediately pay us the dues of Rs.1.36 lakh crore or at least start releasing the interest over that amount and I promise to immediately double the amount being given to women in state under Maiya Samman Yojana,” he said.
Flanked by woman ministers Baby Devi and Dipika Pandey Singh, Gandey MLA and the CM’s wife Kalpana Soren left no stone unturned to convince that BJP prevented 50 lakh eligible women from obtaining Rs 5,000 each from the state scheme.
Addressing a large gathering of women at Sri Bansidhar Nagar, Kalpana highlighted the impact of Hemant Soren’s imprisonment on the Maiya Samman Yojana
“Didis, you have got just two installments of the Maiya Samman Yojana. Had BJP not kept dada, your son in jail for five months, you people would have been richer by Rs 5,000 more instead of 2,000 now,” she claimed.
She sought assurance from the women to bring back Hemant Soren as the CM.
JMM central general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya criticised BJP for dragging prestigious post of the President as political agenda. “By claiming that they have allowed a tribal to become the President, BJP not only demeans the tribal but also insults the highest office of the country,” he said.
