Ranchi: Drinking water and sanitation minister Mithilesh Thakur, who also heads the department of tourism, art, culture, sports and youth affairs, inaugurated the 16th Jharkhand State Police Sports Competition on Monday. The three-day event is being held at the Jharkhand Armed Police-1 ground in Ranchi.
The competition will feature eight teams Jharkhand Armed Police/Indian Reserve Battalion, Koyalanchal area, Palamu area, South Chhotanagpur area, Kolhan area, Santhal Paragana area, North Chhotanagpur area and Criminal Investigation Department.
These teams will compete in 18 different events such as hockey, wrestling, football, basketball, volleyball, handball, kabaddi, athletics, gymnastics, boxing, archery, badminton, table tennis, yoga and various martial arts. The events will take place at Khelgoan. The event was attended by DGP Anuraag Gupta along with other officials.
