Shillong: Troops of the
BSF’s Meghalaya Frontier, responsible for maintaining vigil along the 443-km international border shared with Bangladesh, nabbed a Bangladeshi national involved in “illegal cross-border” activities on Monday, the border force informed on Tuesday.
“On September 23, troops of BSF Meghalaya showcased their commitment to border security by apprehending a Bangladeshi national near the international border in South West Khasi Hills district,” a release by the Meghalaya Frontier headquarters of the BSF stated, reports Manosh Das.
Acting on specific intelligence, the 1st Battalion BSF conducted a special operation near BOP Kanai and apprehended Tonik Hajong, 38, a resident of Netrakona district, Bangladesh. He was found in possession of Bangladeshi currency.
