VARANASI: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said there would be no shortage of doctors in coming five years.
Inaugurating a dialysis unit at the 108-year-old charitable Shri Ram Lakshmi Narayan Marwari Hindu Hospital in Godowlia area late Saturday evening, Yogi said, “Changes brought by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in health sector are remarkable. The goal of one district, one medical college is being rapidly achieved in UP as well.

There will be no shortage of doctors in the country in five to seven years.” There would also be an adequate number of nursing staff, he added.
Praising its services, Yogi said the hospital, dedicated to public service for last 108 years, was an excellent example of the spirit of service.
Yogi, who also inspected the hospital and inquired about patients’ well-being, said the year 1916 was important for Kashi as Banaras Hindu University was established in it, as also this hospital.
Yogi said increasing side effects of modern diet and pollution, excessive use of chemicals and pesticides, and extreme adulteration in all food items were affecting people’s kidneys, heart and lungs.
Young people were suffering from blood sugar and hypertension, he said, adding that dialysis services was being provided for as little as Rs 500.
He said his govt had launched the facility in hospitals of all 75 districts of the state and added that quality must be maintained in health sector.

He also mentioned that more than 5.11 crore people in the state had been issued golden cards, the highest number in the country. Every year, the poor were provided health insurance coverage worth Rs 5 lakh, he said. Among others present at the inaugural function were UP ministers Anil Rajbhar, Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’, Ravindra Jaiswal, MLAs Neelkanth Tiwari, Saurabh Srivastava and the hospital’s trust board president Baijnath Prasad.
