Bollywood superstar
Salman Khan is a man of few words now, but there was a time not too long ago, when he had no qualms speaking his mind in rather candid interactions with the media.
A throwback video from 2008 has resurfaced, capturing the actor in a rather candid chat as he unveiled his life-size wax figure at Madame Tussauds in London. The clip, originally posted by AP, shows the actor ecstatic as he admired the wax figure, said, "It is absolutely fantastic!" He humorously added, "It has thicker hair and is more muscular than me," comparing the statue to his real-life appearance.
During the event, as fans gathered to witness the special occasion, Salman took a moment to reflect on his success.
"God made two kinds of people. One who can go out and get whatever they want for themselves, like
Shah Rukh Khan,
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan..." he said, acknowledging his fellow Bollywood icons.
He then quipped, "And then, God has made me... underprivileged, special. I am actually very privileged." Despite his self-deprecating remark, Salman expressed pride in being one of the four Indian personalities at the time, to be honoured with a wax figure. He said, "Very few Indians have the privilege, and it feels good to be a part of it. We have Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya, Shah Rukh, and I think I am the third most deserving in the museum."
Reports from the time also revealed that Salman attended the launch with his then-girlfriend, actress
Katrina Kaif. As a special contribution to his wax replica, he donated a set of clothes and a bracelet gifted by his father, adding a personal touch to the statue.
On the work front, Salman is currently busy shooting for 'Sikandar' which is slated to release on Eid 2025. He will also make a cameo in
Varun Dhawan's upcoming action film 'Baby John'.
