When Puneeth Rajkumar expressed his dream of sharing screen space with Mohanlal in a Malayalam movie

It was indeed a big loss for the film industry when Puneeth Rajkumar breathed his last on October 29, 2021. Fondly called Appu, Puneeth Rajkumar once revealed his biggest wish to share even ‘One-minute’ screen space with the legendary Mollywood actor Mohanlal in a Malayalam film.

Years back, talking to Mathrubhumi News, Puneeth said that he is a huge fan of Mohanlal and expressed his desire to be part of the legendary actor’s movie.He said, “I am a huge fan of Mohanlal sir. I just told Mohanlal sir that it would be a great pleasure if I could share even ‘One-minute’ space with him in a Malayalam film as a character.”

Meanwhile, Mohanlal and Puneeth have worked together in the Kannada film ‘Mythri’. During the shoot days, Puneeth opened up with the media that he and Mohanlal worked together for three days in the movie and also added that he would love to be part of a Malayalam movie, acting alongside Mohanlal. Puneeth also said that Mohanlal is a great human with a down-to-earth nature.
According to Filmibeat, Mohanlal holds a good bond with Puneeth’s father, the late thespian Dr Rajkumar, and the ‘Drishyam’ actor used to meet Appu’s father at his residence.
On the work front, Mohanlal’s precious outing was with the period action film ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban’ which was directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. Up front, Mohanlal will be seen teaming up with the ‘Saudi Vellakka’s director Tharun Moorthy for an upcoming film which is tentatively titled ‘L360’. The movie will have Shobana in the female lead and the expectations are quite high.
