Watch: Girl escapes death by magically landing on flyover pillar after being hit by car

A girl riding a scooter narrowly avoided a severe accident after being hit by a car near Noida Sector-25. Swift action by police and fire rescue teams saved her and two men who tried to help. This incident highlights the increasing road accidents, with significant fatalities reported in 2022.

Road accidents have increasingly become an affair wherein statistics reveal a disquieting spurt. Reckless driving, inadequate infrastructural facilities, and a humongous number of automobiles plod the roads, leading to this alarming tendency.
A girl who was riding a scooty narrowly escaped a grievous accident when she fell on the pillar of an elevated flyover near Noida Sector-25 after being hit by a car on Saturday, September 21, police said.

The videos available on social media showed two men trying to rescue her from the pillar. A large crowd had gathered at the spot.

The police acted swiftly, responding to the incident, reaching the spot in time, and rescuing the girl. Besides the girl, the two men who had tried to save her were also rescued through a trolley machine.
All three were shifted to the hospital for treatment, as the police said while adding that they had confiscated the vehicle which had hit the girl's scooty. .

“Police reached the spot immediately upon receiving the information. A rescue team of Police and Fire reached here, the girl was rescued safely. She was sent to the hospital in an ambulance. The two men were also sent to hospital…As per the information, it was a
WagonR (that hit the girl’s scooter). It has been impounded by the Police. We will ask the girl a few questions about the incident and take further action,” said ADCP Manish Kumar Mishra.

Delhi Road Crash Fatalities Report 2022 by the Transport Department indicates, 50% were pedestrians, while 45% involved drivers and passengers of two or three-wheelers.
This report shows that the killing on roads is becoming alarming. Thus, 1,571 people were killed in 1,517 fatal crashes in 2022. "It is concerning that these numbers represent a 28 % increase from the previous year," the report mentioned.
Of the total death casualties, an alarming 97 percent comprise vulnerable road users including pedestrians, motorcyclists, cyclists, and auto rickshaw occupants motorized and electric. "This is much higher than the national average of 70.8 percent as reported by the ministry," it said.
