Bill Belichick, the former Patriots head coach, has demonstrated more personality in the 2024
NFL seasons than in his 24 combined seasons. After the Patriots and six-time Super Bowl champion, the Patriots, Belichick went unsigned by 31 other organizations, showcasing his football knowledge to the media world.
Jets fans hold a grudge against coach Jim Belichick, who has made their lives miserable at the helm of the Patriots dynasty.
Belichick added another reason for their disdain on McAfee's program, discussing Minnesota Vikings quarterback Darnold and their stellar start to the season. The Vikings improved to 3-0 with a win over the Texans, adding to their victories over the 49ers and Giants. Belichick spoke about how much coaching staffs liked him, despite Minnesota being his fourth team in his NFL career.

Sam Darnold, drafted third overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, has been playing well in the NFL. After being traded to the Carolina Panthers, he was a backup on the San Francisco 49ers before signing with the Minnesota Vikings. Speaking about Darnold's success this season on The Pat McAfee Show, former NFL coach Bill Belichick called the Jets out for not 'liking' Darnold.
"The people at Carolina that I talked to, they really liked him. He was at the Rams, not for very long, they liked him. I think they wanted to re-sign him, he was looking for more of an opportunity than to play behind Stafford. I know that Kevin and some of the coaches in Minnesota, they really like this guy too. So, it seemed like the only people that didn't like Darnold were at the Jets.”
Sam Darnold has been a breakout year in year seven of his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings. Originally supposed to be the backup, an injury to rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy allowed him to start this season as the team's quarterback. In his three games, Darnold has been playing exceptionally well, leading the Vikings to a 3-0 record and first place in the NFC North. He has completed 67.9% of his passes, accumulated 657 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions, and added 35 yards on the ground.
Darnold, who started 3-0 this season with a 21-35 career record, could be in for a big payday next offseason if he continues to play well. With a one-year contract with the Vikings, Darnold's surge could set him up for a significant payoff in the offseason if he continues to perform well.
