A former
WWE Superstar has revealed that joining AEW was a shared goal for him and his current tag team partner. He is now signed with the promotion led by Tony Khan. The wrestler in question is Mansoor, who was released from the Stamford-based company last year alongside Mason Madden (formerly known as Mace). After their departure, the duo re-formed their tag team on the independent wrestling circuit and made their AEW debut a few months ago as the MxM Collection.
Recently, Mansoor disclosed that he and Mason had aimed to join the Tony Khan-led organization while they were performing on the independent scene. During an appearance on AEW Unrestricted, the 28-year-old also mentioned that while he was in NXT, many people there were fans of All Elite Wrestling.
Mansoor revealed,
"When we were on the indies, we had the goal of going to AEW, that was always the goal. (...) I remember we were sitting when AEW first started we were in NXT. And we'd be sitting in that auditorium watching NXT while people would be on their phones watching AEW.”He further added,
“There was always an element of outsider intrigue, that new sort of revolutionary thing where we'd be like, 'God, I feel like if we were there we could be doing something really special,'" [0:00 - 0:50]

Mansoor shares that he enjoys creative freedom in AEW
Mansoor noted that he and Mason Madden (formerly Mace) enjoyed a certain level of creative freedom in AEW. On AEW Unrestricted, the former WWE star shared his thoughts on collaborating with the Tony Khan-led creative team:
"So all these years later, it's so rewarding to actually show up and for it to kinda take off in that sense where creatively speaking, I think it's firing off on all cylinders where the synergy has been awesome. Because getting the opportunity to actually have creative freedom while also working with the creative team in AEW as I think produces some of the best things that we've ever done." [0:51 - 1:12]
The MxM Collection continues to impress fans with their performances in All Elite Wrestling's tag team division. Only time will reveal what Tony Khan has planned for them.
