Bengaluru: In an attempt to increase the data analysis available in the development sector, India Development Review (IDR), a media platform on the development sector, along with Apurva.ai, a digital infrastructure backed by Nandan Nilekani, launched IDR Answers, an AI-powered search and analysis platform built to answer questions about social impact.
The platform is expected to provide anyone investing in or working in social impact with clear, actionable evidence across a broad spectrum of themes, including gender, climate change, education, livelihoods, and social justice. The move will enhance data analysis, knowledge-building, and decision-making in the development sector, said a release from IDR.
IDR Answers will integrate Apurva.ai’s advanced AI technology with IDR’s collective wisdom of more than 1,500 experts from the development sector, said Anand Rajan, founder of Apurva.ai. Large volumes of data are fact-checked and cited unlike in other AI models in IDR. By analysing this data, IDR Answers will uncover trends, observations, and intersections that were previously difficult to identify. This will offer policymakers, practitioners, and the general public new insights and enable more effective strategies for social development.
“IDR Answers is going to change how the development sector uses and implements knowledge. By pulling together perspectives from a diverse range of experts across different themes, making sense of the interconnections between issues, and analysing all of it to answer specific questions that people in the development sector are grappling with, IDR Answers will ensure that people are not just consuming, but can actually act on knowledge. Plus, unlike in ChatGPT, all the information is drawn from IDR’s vast repository of fact-checked and cited articles, thereby eliminating the biases endemic to the Internet, biases that the sector fights hard against in its everyday work,” said Smarinita Shetty, co-founder and CEO of India Development Review.
“Apurva.ai is designed to provide social change leaders with clear, traceable, and actionable insights drawn from IDR’s knowledge base, enabling them to create sustainable and inclusive solutions for the most pressing challenges of our time,” said Anand.
