Woman, grandson die in road accident near Tamil Nadu’s Erode

ERODE: A woman and her grandson died when a speeding car rammed their motorcycle near Tamil Nadu’s Erode on Wednesday night.
The deceased have been identified as R Nandakumar, 24, of Bangalapudur, and his grandmother, P Saraswathi, 62, of Punjai Thurayampalayam.
Police said the accident took place when the two were returning to Bangalapudur after visiting their relatives in Jambai.When they approached the Kalungu Lake on the Bhavani-Appakudal state highway, a speeding car which was coming from the opposite direction rammed their motorcycle.
“Both Nandakumar and Saraswathi were thrown off the motorcycle and died on the spot,” said an officer at the Bhavani police station.
Police recovered the bodies and shifted them to the government hospital in Bhavani for postmortem.
A case has been registered and further probe is on.
