GUWAHATI: The Kuki Students' Organisation has dismissed the statement made by Kuldiep Singh, security adviser to
Manipur govt, regarding an intel about the infiltration of 900 Kuki militants from Myanmar, who might launch multiple coordinated attacks on Meitei villages around September 28 as a "propaganda to demonise us in the strongest way possible," reports Prabin Kalita.
The KSO general headquarters stated that "we were and are capable of defending our ancestral land since time immemorial and definitely against this secessionist community. We don't need our kindreds from another side of the frontiers to aid us as they have problems of their own." During a media interaction in Imphal on Friday, Singh had produced a copy of the input sent by the CM's secretary to the state DGP, which has been widely circulated on social media for the last four to five days.

The KSO general headquarters stated that “we were and are capable of defending our ancestral land since time immemorial and definitely against this secessionist community. We don’t need our kindreds from another side of the frontiers to aid us as they have problems of their own.”
During a media interaction in Imphal on Friday, Singh had produced a copy of the input sent by the CM's secretary to the state DGP, which has been widely circulated on social media for the last four to five days.
“If this letter (intel input) was genuine, how is it that the secretary to the CM was in possession of such a confidential and sensitive security issue instead of the officers concerned and the Army, who are taking care of the security situation in the state?” the KSO asked.
“The KSO general HQ are very confident that this press conference by the state security adviser was done under duress as we believe that he, being the ‘security adviser’, will be aware of the security much better than the office of the chief minister,” the KSO stated.
The KSO general HQ also said the media had earlier reported about banned Meitei militants re-entering the state during the initial days of the strife and asked the security adviser when he would brief the nation about their “involvement and the potential resurgence of Independent Manipur movement”
The KSO General HQ further stated that Singh, as the security adviser, is responsible for monitoring border areas. “If there are any infiltrators present as he claims, it is a security lapse under his supervision. Given this concern, we no longer feel secure under his leadership, as there is a possibility of more Meitei militants infiltrating in the future,” it stated, and called for the security adviser’s resignation and “appointment of a more capable adviser.”
