Protest over alleged ragging of class 9 student
Khargone: Hundreds of parents demanded action in alleged ragging of a class 9 student at Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya in Khargone district. Police and administration have however denied ragging.
Hundreds of members of Gurjar Yuva Sangathan Sanawad and parents on Sunday came to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Juna Pani and demanded action in the alleged ragging by class 11 case.

They accused the school management of sheltering the accused, destroying evidence and hiding the crime.
They said that a class 9 student was called to another house at night on Sept 16 by about 15 students of class 11 and beaten up severely. Protesters alleged that some students were also drunk.
Protesters said that the school management did not inform the parents about the incident for four days. They demanded that a police case be registered against the accused.
Sanawad police station in charge Indresh Tripathi told TOI that at present no such thing as ragging has come to light. He said that the said student of class 9 had a dispute with a few students regarding taking away Ganesh festival prasad from their house and they beat him up. School principal SK Singh said that police are inquiring the matter and accordingly, action will be taken.
Sanawad SDM Pratap Awasya said that school principal has not yet submitted the internal inquiry report to him. He said that efforts are being made to resolve the matter.
