Agency scans mobiles of Sudipto, daughters
Kolkata: The CBI, which has been interrogating Trinamool MLA Sudipto Roy in connection with alleged financial irregularities at the R G Kar Hospital, questioned him till late at night on Sunday.
The agency had already started looking into the mobile phones of Roy and his two daughters. Roy had earlier claimed that he was not involved in the financial irregularities and the allegations against him were based on a complaint lodged by the former deputy superintendent of the hospital Akhtar Ali.
Roy was elected as the president of West Bengal Medical Council in Nov 2022.

The election itself was embroiled in controversy with various doctor organisations — IMA, Joint Platform of Doctors, Service Doctors’ Forum — alleging mass rigging. The medical fraternity has also been accusing the office of the council as the origin point of corruption in the health department.
Roy is also the chairperson of the West Bengal Health Recruitment Board, which has also been mired in controversy of corruption.
