Lucknow: FIR was registered against the woman who had claimed to have consumed poison near the Chief Minister's residence on Sep 21. The case was registered under charges under BNS sections 226 (attempt to commit suicide) and 126 (obstructing movement).
The case was registered on the complaint of SI Meharban Singh on Sep 21. Singh stated he was assigned duty as in charge in Zone 4 for preventing cases of self-immolation.
"I was on duty when at around 8:30am, I saw a woman sitting near the boundary wall of the La Martinière College trisection, looking dazed," said Singh, adding, "When I went along with a woman police official and asked her name and address, the woman identified herself as Rukhsana, 45, of Ruknpura under Shikohabad police station area, Firozabad district.
She also gave her mobile number." The SI said the woman told them that she had consumed poison as her application against landgrabbers submitted in Firozabad had not been taken up.
"A crowd had gathered at the spot and when everyone came to know that the woman had consumed poison, there was chaos and the security of the sensitive spot came under threat," said the SI, adding, "Traffic was disrupted, so I called the QRT team with a vehicle to take the woman to SPM Civil Hospital for treatment," he said.
He said Rukhsana wanted to mount pressure on the administration to address her complaint. "But, her conduct was not lawful and a case had to be registered against her," he said.
DCP, Central Zone, Raveena Tyagi, said a probe was being conducted into who incited her and her call detail records were also being checked.
