8 arrested for assault

Udupi: Eight persons have been arrested after a group of labourers fought using sticks. A group of labourers was seen assaulting a youth. According to police, on Sunday night, some labourers from Chattisgarh who had come to lay a pipeline in Udupi Town police station limits fought amongst themselves over a petty issue near their shed. In connection with this, a suo motu case has been registered and all the accused have been secured.None sustained grievous injuries, police said.
