Rev. Fr Coelho praised the swift and efficient completion of the project, attributing its success to the dedicated efforts of Rev. Fr Ajith B Menezes, Administrator of FMMC, FMCOAHS, and FMCOP, who oversaw the construction.
He acknowledged the importance of the new statues of Saints Joachim and Anne, the patron saints of the institution, installed in honour of their guidance and protection.
Rev. Fr Coelho emphasised the institution’s ongoing mission to provide top-notch facilities for its students, doctors, staff, and patients.
Rev. Fr Ajith highlighted the attention to architectural detail, noting that wood repurposed from old campus structures was used to maintain the building's historic aesthetic, particularly in crafting the elegant curved windows.
The newly inaugurated floor is designed with cutting-edge facilities to serve both students and patients. It features air-conditioned classrooms equipped with
smart boards, specifically for postgraduate students in General Medicine, Urology, Nephrology, and Radiotherapy.
These classrooms can accommodate 250 people, with the option to expand the space to hold up to 500 attendees through the use of folding doors.
A dedicated Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) Centre has also been established on this floor, offering comprehensive treatment, care, and support for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV). In addition, the floor houses a counselling room and centre, further enhancing the hospital’s support services for both patients and staff.
