Mysore: Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has decided to cut electricity supply to all such establishments if they haven't paid the bills even after the due date.
Some customers, govt departments, and village panchayats, including drinking water units and streetlight establishments, have not paid their electricity fees. Due to non-payment of electricity fees even after the due date, it has been decided to cut the electricity supply.
In a release issued by the CESC, the authorities have stated that as per the provisions of KERC licencing regulations, "If customers do not pay the bill by the given date, the licensees have the right to cut off the electricity supply to the establishment after providing a clear 15-day notice to the customers who have not paid the fees after the stipulated due date."
Therefore, all categories of electricity consumers, including govt departments, except for emergency services like govt hospitals and police services, are requested to pay their outstanding electricity fees within 7 days.
CESC MD G Sheela has stated a decision to cut off the electricity supply to establishments, who haven't paid the bills within the due date, has been taken. The MD has urged consumers to pay the bill on time to avoid any inconvenience.
