Karthi apologizes to Pawan Kalyan after the latter mocked the former's joking comment on Laddu

Karthi's next film 'Meiyazhagan' is scheduled for release on September 27, with its Telugu version titled 'Sathyam Sundaram'. During a pre-release event, Karthi made a joking comment about Laddu that drew criticism from Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. Following the backlash, Karthi issued an apology on social media for any unintended misunderstanding.

Karthi, the popular South actor is all set to deliver his next titled 'Meiyazhagan' and the film is slated to release in theatres on September 27. 'Meiyazhagan' is releasing along with the Telugu version titled 'Sathyam Sundaram' and the team had a grand pre-release event in Hyderabad yesterday (Sep 23). During the event, Karthi made a joking comment on Laddu when the anchor asked the actor "Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya" (Do you wish to eat Laddu?) a popular dialogue from the actor's film 'Siruthai'.

Karthi then replied that he didn't want any Laddu now since it's a sensitive topic and hinted at the ongoing Tirupati Laddu issue. However, Karthi dealing with the sensitive question with a smile made him face trouble.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Telugu actor Pawan Kalyan has now mocked Karthi for his joking comment at the 'Sathyam Sundaram' pre-release event. When addressing the Press and Media after performing a ritual at the Kanaka Durga Temple, in Vijayawada, Pawan Kalyan expressed his concern over people making joking comments about Tirupati Laddu issue and warned actors to not hurt the sentiments of people. Following Pawan Kalyan's injunction, Karthi shared his apologizes, and he took to social media to write "Dear @PawanKalyan sir, with deep respects to you, I apologize for any unintended misunderstanding caused. As a humble devotee of Lord Venkateswara, I always hold our traditions dear. Best regards".
Directed by Prem Kumar, 'Meiyazhagan' aka 'Sathyam Sundaram' features Karthi, Aravind Swamy, Sri Divya, and Raj Kiran in the main roles, and the film has music composed by Govind Vasantha.
