The 2027 men's
Champions League final will not be taking place in Milan, according to
UEFA, due to uncertainties surrounding the San Siro stadium's future.
"As the Municipality of Milano could not guarantee that the San Siro stadium and its surroundings would not be affected by refurbishment works in the period of the 2027
UEFA Champions League final, it was decided not to assign the final to Milan," Reuters quoted UEFA as saying in a statement.
With this situation, UEFA has reopened the bidding process to find a suitable venue, with a decision expected by May or June of 2025.
The 2026 Champions League final is already set to be held in Budapest.
Initially, only Budapest and Milan had put forth bids to host the 2026 and 2027 finals.
