Panaji: A day after chief minister
Pramod Sawant hit out at his opponents for spreading fake news and videos against him, ministers in the Sawant cabinet on Monday said that all of them support their CM, who is working for the state.
The ministers condemned the messages, articles and videos being circulated to tarnish the CM’s image. Referring to the issues raised on social media, WRD minister Subhash Shirodkar said, “I have been in politics for the last 30 to 40 years and I have worked under various chief ministers.
In the last two and a half years, chief minister Pramod Sawant has been trying to provide good governance to the people of the state. We have experienced the ability of the chief minister to handle the issues related to the state. I have never seen such dirty politics.”
“We, all 12 ministers, are together with our chief minister. I urge everyone to stop such social media campaigns. Such campaigns divert the mind and it disrupts govt’s creativity and stops constructive work. This should not happen,” Shirodkar said.
Tourism minister Rohan Khaunte condemned the messages, articles and videos circulated to tarnish the image of the chief minister.
Sawant on Sunday said that fake videos and articles have been circulated and published in an attempt to disturb the double-engine govt in the state and to malign him as he is doing good work for Goa. He had said that in the past week, there has been a campaign in the media, including social media, to tarnish his image as the chief minister. “I know this has been done with political motives,” Sawant had said.
