Madurai: More than five decades after Dravidian rule began, separate cremation grounds for dalits are still seen across
Tamil Nadu, said Union minister of state
L Murugan in Tirunelveli on Sunday. Speaking at a
BJP grassroots membership drive, he questioned the DMK govt's stand on caste and religious politics.
"Dravidian parties have failed to eliminate long-standing caste-based practices in the state, including separate crematoriums for dalits.
It's unjust for DMK to accuse BJP of exploiting caste and religion," Murugan stated. "Has the chief minister ever visited a hostel for scheduled caste and tribal students to assess their conditions," he asked.
Murugan claimed that BJP will win all four upcoming state assembly elections and form the govt. "In addition, the BJP alliance will come to power in the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections as well," he said. "We are working intensively to add one crore members in Tamil Nadu alone," he said.
