VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell condemns ban on his entry to Karnataka's Chitradurga

Vishwa Hindu Parishad's Sharan Pumpwell criticized the Chitradurga district administration for banning his entry to participate in a Mahaganapathi immersion procession. He accused the Karnataka government of creating fear among Hindus while failing to act against other disruptive forces. The ban is in effect until October 7 to maintain law and order.

MANGALURU: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Dakshina Karnataka Prantha joint secretary Sharan Pumpwell condemned the move of Chitradurga district administration that restricted his entry to the district to take part in the Mahaganapathi immersion procession organised by VHP-Bajrang Dal at Hiriyur on Sunday.
Sharan stated that the state government has no courage to act against jihadi forces that pelt stones, but it has been creating fear among Hindus.

“The government in Karnataka is engaged in creating fear among Hindus who gather for Ganesha idol processions. Why does Chief Minister Siddaramaiah prevent Hindus from uniting?” he asked.
In fact, Sharan was scheduled to participate in the Ganesha procession at Hiriyur on Sunday. He was also scheduled to deliver a speech at the event. Meanwhile, to maintain law and order, Chitradurga DC has banned his entry till October 7. The DC has passed the order as per the Sections 152, 162, 163 Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
A grand procession of the Ganesha idol at Chitradurga town is scheduled to be held on September 28.
