Class 11 student ends life after friend circulates ‘private videos’

Meerut: A Class 11 student of a govt school in Meerut's Lohia Nagar was found hanging with a scarf from a door frame on the first floor of her house on Saturday.
Police said the 16-year-old girl took the extreme step after she came to know that some "private videos" which she had shared with her boyfriend were circulated by him among his friends.
SHO (Lohia Nagar) Sanjay Kumar Pandey told TOI: "We're trying to get a written complaint from the family.Following their complaint, we'll register an FIR and arrest the accused."
The official added that the family refused to conduct an autopsy and cremated the body.
"The videos were uploaded on several obscene sites and the clips somehow reached the victim's kin. The girl, the only child, couldn't bear the humiliation and shock and took her life," said a neighbour.
"Her mother was busy with household chores on the ground floor and her father, an employee at a security firm, was at work when she walked into her first floor room and hanged herself. When she didn't return downstairs, her mother went to check on her and found her dead," he added.
