Skoda Auto India is all set to enter the sub-4 metre SUV space with the new Skoda Kylaq. The new SUV will be based on the brand’s MQB-A0-IN platform and will measure less than four metres in length. The Kylaq will go on sale officially in 2025 and will rival the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and other sub-compact SUVs in the Indian market.
Ahead of its launch in 2025, the company has announced that it will reveal the Kylaq in its production form on November 6, 2024. In terms of design, it will be in line with other Skoda models with signature grille sleek LED DRLs and split headlights. It features L-shaped LED taillights with a bold ‘Skoda’ badge in the centre and it also appears to have a chunky rear bumper and roof rails. Overall, it looks like a mini Kushaq with a few changes.
Features-wise, it’s expected to get a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system which will likely be an 8.0-inch unit with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a semi-digital cluster, automatic climate control, single-pane electric sunroof, multiple airbags, auto headlamps with wipers, rear AC vents, cruise control, rear camera with sensors and more.
