Critic's Rating: 3.0/5
Story: Architect Nisha (Leona Lishoy) ignores frequent blackmail calls about her past life from a mystery man. When past and present come together, can Nisha handle it all?
Review: Nisha (Leona Lishoy) is an architect living with her husband Vineeth (Prashant Murali) and son Aryan. One day she receives a mysterious call from an unknown man who blackmails her about divulging an incident in her past to her husband. She talks about it to her husband who tells her there is nothing to worry about and shuts the blackmailer down. After a few days, Nisha sees the blackmailer at different places. She starts receiving letters. Vineeth lodges a police complaint and Sub Inspector Ajith takes the lead on this case. Ajith (Maqbool Salman) is dealing with a tormented past of his own. After a detailed probe into Nisha’s case, a shocking truth is revealed, which connects Nisha’s past and present. What is the truth? Who is this blackmailer? How Nisha comes out of it forms the rest of the story.
Malayalam cinema is known for its experimental films and Agathokakological, too, adds to the list of must-watch thriller films. The film’s screenplay pace is a good blend of slow and fast, keeping the audience hooked to the seats. The film carries a good and relevant message to society, which has been conveyed neatly. Actors’ performances elevate the mood of the film and Leona in particular is a show-stealer. Writer-director Venkatesh CD has crafted a thrilling experience with Agathokakological.
If you are an avid thriller movie fan, the film might become a bit predictable towards the end. Overall, Agathokakological lives up to its genre and makes for an engaging watch.
